We keep dumpster rental simple: two roll-off sizes that cover almost every home and contractor job in the Bradenton and Sarasota area. The only real question is which one fits your project. Here's how to choose — and when in doubt, the bigger one usually saves a second trip.

What a "yard" actually means

A "yard" is a cubic yard — a 3-ft × 3-ft × 3-ft cube of space. A 12-yard dumpster holds roughly 12 of those, or about 3–4 pickup-truck loads; a 16-yard holds about 5–6 pickup loads. Both of ours share the same 12′ × 8′ footprint, so they fit a standard driveway — the 16-yard is just two feet taller.

Book 16-Yard

Which size for your project?

  • Garage, attic or closet cleanout → 12-yard is plenty for most homes.
  • Single-room remodel (kitchen or bath) → 12-yard for one room; step up to 16 if cabinets, tile and flooring all go at once.
  • Whole-home or estate cleanout → 16-yard — furniture and bulky items eat space fast.
  • Roof tear-off → figure roughly one yard per square (100 sq ft) of shingles; a 16-yard covers most single-layer residential roofs.
  • Construction & demo debris → 16-yard, but watch the weight (see below).
  • Just a quick clear-out? → ask about our Quick Load — we drop it, you load in about 30 minutes, and we haul it the same trip, from $349.

Don't forget weight

Both sizes include 2 tons (4,000 lbs) of disposal; over that it's $90/ton, pro-rated. Volume usually fills up before weight does — except with heavy material like shingles and tile, which can hit the weight limit fast. We take concrete, brick, and block in limited amounts — up to half of a 12-yard load, since it's heavy. We don't haul dirt. Not sure how heavy your load is? Send us a photo and we'll tell you which can fits. (We don't haul dirt.)

Still not sure? That's what we're here for — call or text (941) 302-5728 with what you're working on and we'll point you to the right size. Bigger usually beats making two trips.

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between a 12-yard and a 16-yard dumpster?

Same 12′×8′ footprint — the 16-yard is two feet taller (6′ vs 4′), holding about 16 cubic yards (~5–6 pickup loads) versus 12 cubic yards (~3–4 pickup loads). Both include 2 tons and a 7-day rental.

How many pickup-truck loads fit in a dumpster?

Roughly 3–4 pickup loads in a 12-yard and 5–6 in a 16-yard. If you're guessing between sizes, the larger one is usually cheaper than renting twice.

What size dumpster do I need for a roof?

Estimate about one cubic yard per square (100 sq ft) of shingles. A 16-yard handles most single-layer residential tear-offs; for a small or single-section roof a 12-yard may do.

Can I put concrete in a regular dumpster?

Yes — in limited amounts. Because concrete is heavy, we cap it at half of a 12-yard load per rental; just tell us when you book if your load includes concrete. (We don't haul dirt.)
